Anacortes will retain the trophy, but for the third consecutive season, Burlington swept aside the Seahawks in the latests installement of the TigerHawk Challenge.
Jackson Kirkpatrick's 24 points led all scorers on the night, but it wasn't enough for the short-handed Seahawks as they fell 75-62 to Will Stewart and crew. The Hawks, playing without starters Mark Medalia and Ty Hayes, trailed by five at half before Burlington pulled away in the third quater.
Molly Breckenridge scored Burlington-Edison's first 10 points to help pace a 64-36 win in the girl's matchup. The 'Hawks didn't make a field goal until the 5-minute mark of the second quarter while the Tigers were red-hot from the field. The win pushes Burlington's record to 4-0 on the season and they're outscoring teams by an average of 34 points.
